The program is called the "Masonic Widows Fund Association". The association exists and operates under the authority and permission from the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Florida.

The purpose of the association is to provide funds for helping to defray expenses of the widows or other survivors in case of the death of a Member: to more firmly cement the bonds of friendship and brotherhood, plus to inculcate the practice of brotherly love in Masonic Fraternity.

Any Master Mason, in good standing, including dual and honorary members, in a particular Lodge in the Third Masonic District of the State of Florida, shall be eligible for membership in this organization. Futhermore, by being a member of this association you are contributing to the relief of a worthy distressed Brother Master Masons Widow's and orphans.
At the present time, we have approximately 610+ members from the Third Masonic District that participates in the Widow's Fund. What this basically means is when a member of the Widow's fund is called from his labors on earth to that everlasting refreshment in the celestial Lodge of the Supreme Architect of the Universe, the members beneficiary will be paid at the rate of one dollar for each member in good standing in the fund. If you wish, you may make your Lodge your beneficiary. The beneficiary is usually paid within twenty-four hours after the association is notified of the death of the memeber or as soon as possible if the beneficiary resides outside the area.
